Sustaining our 'classic' future

Classic Collective are at the forefront of a movement to make classic vehicles, and the industry that supports them fully sustainable.

To that end we collaborate with a number of companies and organisations from carbon capture, education and sustainable fuels.

We practice what we preach, so examples of all of the following can be found inside our business

Education

HERITAGE SKILLS ACADEMY

Helping to educate the next generation of classic car engineers

Over the past decade, we have supported ten young people in their quest to become classic car engineers.  Some of these are now senior engineers in the business, and others have moved on, either running their own business or working within other heritage engineering businesses.

Many of our apprentices have either been placed, or outright won the converted 'Apprentice' or 'Young Engineer' of the year at both the Octane and RAC awards ceremony.

We currently have two apprentices working in the business who study with our partners at the Heritage Skills Academy, based at Bicester Heritage and Brooklands Museum.

ASSOCIATION OF HERITAGE ENGINEERS

Headquarters for the Association of Heritage Engineers

Run by co-director Dominic Taylor- Lane, the Association of Heritage Engineers (AoHE) is a not-for-profit organisation supports and promotes all engineering, hand and craft skills from watch-making to aviation.

It was started to help promote and support HSA apprenticeships and the businesses that employ them. Over the past years Dominic has worked tirelessly to not only do this, but support all aspects of heritage engineering, whether it be steam, aviation, automotive, watch making or craft skills.

The AoHE Heritage Skills Ambassador Program includes  TV celebrities, museums and further education establishments.

Carbon Capture & Sustainable Fuel

TREE-V MOTORING

Carbon offset for classic car owners and events

Classic Collective partners with Tree-V to offset the emissions of events we are involved with.

This year, with the support of Howden Insurance we will be offsetting the carbon produced by all the competition cars at Kop Hill Climb

P1 SUSTAINABLE FUEL

Carbon neutral petrol alternative

Classic Collective and AoHE are collaborating with Sustain Fuels

These remarkable liquid fuels are direct replacements for 'pump gasoline' and can be used in any and all petrol powered vehicles as a carbon free alternative.

It also makes for a fantastic 'storage fuel' with a very long shelf life and no ethanol.

Tree-V CARBON OFFSET

Carbon offset for classic car enthusiasts

Tree-V are a bunch of car – or anything with wheels really – enthusiasts focused on carbon offsetting. Their innovative approach to tackle vehicle emissions allows individuals, venues, attractions, organisations, companies and clubs (basically anyone!) to carbon offset and carbon capture the exact miles they drive and enjoy green motoring.

Their mission is to make sure that the pollution from every mile powered by fossil fuels is balanced out by the planting and protection of beautiful forestry, throughout the UK and abroad.
